Section amour + V-Scratch

La Section Amour (qui regroupe dix artistes issus de labels et collectifs differents) est un projet multimedia d’improvisation musicale et de création visuelle, basée sur l’interaction entre un groupe d’artistes et un programme informatique, à la croisée des musiques électroniques, pop et acoustiques. Le déroulement dans le temps et les structures sont déterminés en temps réel par un chef d’orchestre électronique virtuel, l’application «EventLive », qui délivre aux musiciens des ordres de jeu. Ces indications sont projetées sur un grand écran, destinés à être vues des musiciens autant que du public, dans la mesure où les ordres de jeu (textes ou visuels) sont aussi là pour expliciter l’improvisation en cours. Chaque participant a à sa disposition un choix personnel d’instruments et un boîtier de vote ou ordinateur en réseau pour orienter, au-delà du jeu musical, l’improvisation en cours.
Le collectif aime à se produire dans le cadre de performances « workshops » ouverts au public, sur de longues périodes de temps (de 6 à 12 heures).
Pour Mal Au Pixel, La section amour invite les artistes volontaires à participer à leur experience musicale.

Section Amour is an interactive project between artists and a computer, confronting free-will and the random indications of the software, a virtual electronic score which delivers more or less precise indications, which are to be projected on a large screen, that is to be viewed by the musicians and the audience (indications may appear in the shape of visual material, pics or videos). Every musician is allowed a right to “veto” against either the indication provided by the program, or against the current the improvisation: this “veto” technique is the incarnation of the will of the Section Amour against the machine; and makes it alike a parody of democracy, acting along the random wills of the world it acts upon.
An “in situ” oriented project, Section Amour shall eventually fully unravel with a proper immersion within the specificities of each site of performance (city, language, inhabitants, collaborators…) a few days before the proper performance, in order to collect, gather and elaborate in situ “colors” and indications of improvisation within the memory of the software.
The goal of every residency is the eventual realization of a multimedia/audio souvenir artefact, gathering archives and edits of the material gathered and improvisations performed.

For Mal au Pixel, Section Amour invite volunteer musicians to experiment the display and to take part in this collective creation !

V-scratch (Suisse)

Scratcher des images a été un challenge depuis quelques années.
Plusieurs projets on approché cette idée, la plupart se limitant à l’idée de traiter une séquence comme un sample audio lors d’un scratch : avant arrière. Le but V-scracth est autre. Il s’agit d’observer et de traduire graphiquement le résultat de la manipulation d’un sample audio au moyen du scratch.
Pour ce faire Valerio Spoletini a mis au point un dispositif «DIY» très simple qui permet de quantifier la manipulation physique du disque ainsi que les modifications qu’apporte cette manipulation sur un sample audio. Le résultat : un scratch sonore visuel temps réel de toute beauté.
