Kiasma Mediatheque: Expedition to the Total Eclipse
“Expedition to the Total Eclipse” is an exhibition about Capsula’s cross-disciplinary expedition to the zone of the total solar eclipse in Siberia, in August 2008. It premieres artworks created during the expedition, by Agnes-Meyer Brandis (DE), Mireia C. Saladrigues (ES) and Tommi Taipale (FI). The exhibition will open in Kiasma Mediatheque on March 6 and will be on view until June 7.
MUU Gallery: Signals from the South
‘Signals from the South’ is an annual showcase of projects from ‘the South’ (South America, Africa, Asia). This year’s exhibition features work by Venzha Christ / Yogyakarta New Media Art Laboratory (Indonesia), Geraldine Juárez (Mexico), Annemie Maes (Belgium), Vanessa Gocksch & Juan Carlos Pellegrino (Colombia). The exhibition will open in MUU Gallery on March 12 and will be on view until April 5.
Myymälä2: Artkillart
The Artkillart exhibition features installations by Valentina Vuksic (CH) and Yann Leguay (FR). It is a collaboration between the label of experimental audiovisual and sound art Artkillart and Pixelache. The exhibition will open in Myymälä2 Gallery on April 1 and will be on view until April 12.
Kiasma lobby: Digital Craftsmanship
Pixelache 09 Digital Craftsmanship exhibition in the ground floor of Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art features work from The Berlin University of the Arts (Universität der Künste Berlin) Digital Media class. The works from study semesters “Beauty of Data” and “Indie Design” look at the aesthetics and game-changing qualities of rapid manufacturing and the merging of digital and physical manufacturing processes and methods. The exhibition will open on April 2 and will be on view until April 5.
Lasipalatsi: Spaceship Earth
Art, Science & Ecology: a ‘navigation toolkit’ for Spaceship Earth, featuring Pachube (UK/International), Windtracing & Suntracing by Miska Knapek (FI), Wificamera by Bengt Sjölén (SE), Adam Somlai-Fischer (HU) and Usman Haque (UK), Helsingin Energia real-time energy consumption data project and works by Kitchen Budapest (HU). The exhibition will open in Lasipalatsi on April 3 and will be on view until April 5.
