Alice
Angus is a writer, artist and curator. Her work is inspired by rethinking
concepts of landscape and human interaction and opening up new spaces
for artistic practice. She is a manager and board member of Probiscis,
a cultural organisation which researches, develops and facilitates creative
innovation where she is currently leading the development of the Topologies,
Liquid Geographies and Sonic Geographies research themes and their related
projects. Alice Angus is former Visual Arts Consultant to the Glasgay
Festival in Glasgow, for whom she has curated exhibitions at the Gallery
of Modern Art. She is also formerly Programme Manager for Fotofeis, Scottish
Biennial of Photo-based Arts and editor of '(Re)visions of Sex', Fotofeis
(1997). Presenting: Sonic Geographies Sonic Geographies takes a different approach to exploring the experience of the city using sound as a means to explore and map histories of urban experience and the underlying infrastructure of the city, as well as to reflect upon how this might influence urban evolution. A series of scenarios are being developed that operate as maps and journeys but also as highly personal renderings of sonic experience - 'sounds of the personal world in conversation with sounds of the city'. |
