Back in the glory days of the winter olympics
of Lillehammer'94 I was an unknown sportswriter for the Scandinavian
press, and rock 'n' roll was killing my life.
Towards the end of my favourite event, held
within what some folks call "the greatest show on earth", I had
a horrible accident, which turned out to be a stroke of luck.
I was in a coma for [5 days] a week and all
I remember from that moment in a coma was a feast of sound that
might also be known to man as clicks and cuts with a splash of
IDM. That beautiful techno had a permanent effect on my inner
child, a child that I had up to that moment in time lost all contact
with and of course not nourished properly.
When I came to my senses I was told by my doctor
and his nurse that the tunes that perhaps saved my sences came
from two bodies in a band called Vindva Mei.
The doctor was a true believer in science but
the nurse explained to me, when the doctor fell a sleep, the nature
of this music. That it was a tribal gathering of sounds from surgical
tools and medical equipments, with a little help from what the
duo called "the human touch - the hands that heal". Since then
the boys have renewed their instruments and the good old hospital
days are over. They still have what it takes to nourish my inner
child and have time and again rekindled the fire in my belly.
I love those boys.
