Benjamin Maus (DE)
Written by Kalle Pakkala on March 20, 2009.Benjamin Maus was born 1984 in Geislingen, Germany. Early in his life he started taking apart apparatuses and used BASIC as a tool for generative graphics. At the moment he is designing, coding and tinkering in Berlin. Until 2007 he used to be the bass player for the metal band “Sepcys”.
He began his studies 2005 at the “University of Applied Sciences Schwäbisch-Gmünd”. In 2008 he moved to Berlin to continue his studies at the “Berlin University of the Arts”, where he is part of the “Class for Designing with Digital Media” lead by Professor J. Sauter and Professor J. Ängeslevä.
Exhibited Projects
2008 - The “Mood Gasometer” was reflecting the mood of Berlin’s inhabitants as part of the “Media Facades Festival”. Developed in collaboration with Julius von Bismarck and Richard Wilhelmer.
2008 - The data sculpture “Reflection” developed with Andreas N. Fischer was shown at the “5 days off” Festival in Amsterdam as part of the “Frozen” exhibition.
2008 - ”Reflection” was also shown at the “Tag” Gallery in Amsterdam
2009 - “Reflection” is part of the transmediale.09 Festival in Berlin
