Digital Craftsmanship seminar

What is ‘digital craftsmanship’? This mini-seminar is looking for an answer to this question from the perspective of digital design study programmes, companies and individual practitioners. The participants of this seminar include artists, designers, engineers and students from ART+COM (DE), The Berlin University of Arts (DE), Taik Media Lab (FI), Yatta (FI), Culture Lab Newcastle (UK), Kitchen Budapest (HU) and Konstfack (SE).
Preliminary schedule for Digital Craftsmanship seminar:
- 10:00 Kiasma doors open
- 10:15-11:45 Presentations by Joachim Sauter (DE) & Jussi Ängeslevä (FI/DE) / ART+COM, Tuomo Tammenpää (FI) / Yatta, Adam Somlai-Fischer (HU) / Kitchen Budapest and Bengt Sjölén (SE) followed by a discussion. Topics include rapid manufacturing, open hardware, etc.
- 11:45-12:00 break
- 12:00-13:00 Presentations by Jenna Sutela (FI) / Taik Media lab + Petri Kola (FI) / Taik Media lab followed by a discussion. Topics include digital tools, social media, etc.
