Johnny Ranger / Mindroot
Experimenting with video since the late 1980s, Johnny Ranger's
live material consists of original images inspired by his daily living,
which are then reorganized with thoughts, words, and animations. He creates
an electric-organic style of non-linear narratives that invite spontaneous
insights to appear in a surprising blend of synchronicities and multi-layered
readings. Emotion, fluidity, cosmic, playful design, and rhythm and luminosity
are the building blocks of his work. He founded Mindroots (www.mindroots.com)
in 1997, a laboratory of interdisciplinary creation that embraces video,
sound, performance, conceptualization, drawing, Internet, etc
Future projects include a full DVD production of VJ Mixes and a VJ performance
combining his sound works and installations with invited guest musicians
with diverse musical styles. He has played diversified VJ sets for Kid
Loco , Deadbeat, James Lavelle, Epsilonlab, John
Howard & Lusine.
