Daniel Skoglund
Originaire de Göteborg, il est compositeur et plasticien. Ayant fait ses débuts au sein du duo 8Tunnel2, il est également auteur de performances, le plus souvent inscrites dans un contexte musical. Entre autre auteur d’une installation vidéo distribuée par Splintermind.com et d’une pièce sonore pour SRC (Sveriges Radio), il compte parmi ses collaborateurs Mats Gustafsson ainsi que DJ Olive. Dans sa performance Skisser och rutiner, l’usage de la mine de plomb lui permet de véhiculer le son dans un réseau d’instruments électroniques recyclés, dans un manège évolutif, autant visuel que sonore.
Daniel Skoglund is a sound- and installation artist from Göteborg with a background in the sound art duo 8TUNNEL2. His activities also include performances, often in a musical context, as well as sound / music compositions. Earlier this year, he has created a video installation, distributed by Splintermind.com, collaborated with Mats Gustafsson and DJ Olive and created an sound art piece for SRC (Sveriges Radio).

Boulez Republic Grand Ensemble
Le BOULEZ REPUBLIC GRAND ENSEMBLE est un groupe constitué de plus de deux personnes dès qu’il y a un public devant. Un concert du BRGE, cela pourrait être des images sonorisées, ou alors des morceaux de musique illustrés. C’est selon. En tous les cas, l’un ne va pas sans l’autre. Un musicien et un VJ élaborent un univers pompier, pompeux, surchargé et suranné.(On y croise des Ford T, des grévistes Japonais, un micro, un plateau façon Top of the Pop’s, des boites à rythmes, de l’horticulture, Gandhi -toujours d’attaque, des laptops et des crooners décadents sud américains…. !) La forme , elle, tient du cut-up, du débordement sonore et visuel, du dérapage (toujours) contrôlé. L’ensemble se veut bruyant à mort, dansant à mort, urbain toujours et joyeusement bordélique (On n’a pas pu amener les éléphants sur la scène alors on les a samplés…) Le tout fini par acquérir son sens propre. BRGE is a band made of more than two members as soon as there’s an audience. A BRGE live show could be motion pictures with sound on it or illustrated soundtracks. It depends. Anyway, one does not work without the other. A musician and a VJ construct a floating, pulsing, loaded and old fashioned universe (In which you’ll find Ford Ts, Japanese strikers, a microphone, a Top-of-the-Pops-like stage, beat boxes, gardening, Gandhi(Still Fighting!), laptops, decadent South American crooners….). The material is made of cut-ups, audio and video floods, (nearly) controlled glidings… All together, it becomes very very noisy, dancing like hell, urban and above all, adorably messy (”As we could not bring elephants on stage, we did sample them”).The whole thing ending up in finding its own sense. Memnon is an experimental music duo of kantele player Eva Alkula and sound designer Ville Hyvönen. Memnon examines interfaces and collisions between traditional instrument and modern design, classical training and modern electronics, academic and experimental music, compositions and sound design.
The Finnish kantele playing and sound tradition is taken to a new modern level by approaching it from totally different perspectives: memnon combines the unique Finnish sound of kantele with scandinavian electronic minimalism, and widens the classical kantele tradition to experimental sound landscapes.
Eva Alkula has graduated from the Sibelius Academy, where she majored contemporary and classical kantele music. In 1999 2000 she studied Japanese koto at the Hokkaido University of Education in Sapporo. In Memnon Eva plays newly designed 39-string electric kantele built by Koistinen Kantele.
Ville Hyvönen is sound designer and producer working on a wide field of theatre and music-scene,ranging from rock to contemporary electronic music and modern stage-drama. He uses a laptop computer to sample and real-time manipulate Evas playing.

Erich Berger
Erich Berger est un artiste et chercheur indépendant. Il vit et travaille à Helsinki. Depuis 1995, sa recherche artistique s’inspire des théories de Pierre Levy, notamment sur ”l’art de l’implication”. Les œuvres de Berger sont exposées dans le monde entier. Il compte parmi ses collaborateurs, des artistes comme Laura Beloff, Martin Pichlmair, Zeitblom ou Pure avec qui il a créé un duo d’improvisation audiovisuelle. De concert avec le groupe Télézone, il a été primé lors du Prix Ars Electronica 2000 pour son installation télérobotique Telezone.
Tempest forme un live audiovisuel minimal où ce qui est à la source de la partition sonore et visuelle est l’activité de la machine elle-même. Ses oscillations électromagnétiques, captées par de simples radios, génèrent un larsen sonore et visuel, loin du potentiel d’espionnage pour laquelle cette technique est connue.
Erich Berger is an independent researcher and artist. He lives and works in Helsinki. Since 1995 his artistic research is inspired by the theories of Pierre Levy, recently about « the art of the implication ». The works of Berger are exhibited all over the world. He works together with artists like Laura Beloff, Martin Pichlmair, Zeitblom or Pure with whom he created a duo of audiovisual improvisation. Together with the group Télézone he won the Ars Electronica Prize 2000 for his telerobot installation Telezone.
The performance TEMPEST utilizes the basic principles of this technique to transform purely generative graphic into a tight and intense composition of sound, noise and light. Several AM receivers are tuned into different frequencies of a computer screen and their outputs are plugged into an audio mixer for further sound processing. The graphics on the computer screen (seen by the audience via 2 large projections) become a means of producing sound and it is only the generative graphics which determine the different timbres and rhythms. A feed of the audio back into the image generating process adds a chaotic layer and so TEMPEST becomes a synaesthetic instrument mastered by surfing the space of possibilities
evolving from this autopoietic process.

Stalker
StalKer commence sa carrière de musicien en 1996. Membre d’un des plus anciens sound-systems français, Impakt-Teknocrates, il mélange très vite les bases de la techno avec celles du breakbeat. Il entreprend des recherches rythmiques, s’initie à la musique expérimentale, à l’électronica, au breakcore. Il multiplie les projets maxis et les collaborations (Crystal Distortion, Signal Electrique, Gelstat, Fuel Insekt, Electric Mayhem). Aujourd’hui totalement indépendant, Stalker est un artiste médiant, multicarte, multiscènes. Ses lives se séparent en trois sets distincts : l’électro-techno / le hardstyle, dance floor tonitruant, plus rapide, plus dur / le breakcore, mélange de plusieurs tempos et de plusieurs couches, avec beaucoup de détails rythmiques déstructurés.
StalKer begins his career as musician in 1996. Beeing a member of one of the oldest french sound-systems, Impakt-Teknocrates, he mixes very quickly the basics of techno with the ones of breakbeat. He undertakes rythmic researches and initiates himself into experimental music, into the electronica, into the breakcore. He multiplies the maxi projects and the collaborations (Crystal Distortion, Signal Electrique, Gelstat, Fuel Insekt, Electric Mayhem). Beeing completely independent today, Stalker is a multitalented mediating artist. His lives can be split up in three different sets : electro-techno / hardstyle, faster booming dance floor, harder / breakcore, a mix of several tempos and several layers, with lots of destructured rythmic details.

Eedio
Premier francais et premier étranger à avoir signer sur le prestigieux label berlinois Bpitch Control (mené de main de main de maître par la fameuse Ellen Allien), EEDiO fait de la musique sans contraintes et avant tout pour le plaisir sous l’influence de la new wave des années 80 et de toute le scène électronique européenne actuelle… Considéré comme un des plus grand espoir de la musique électronique (classé en février dernier dans le référendum lecteurs de TRAX parmi les 10 artistes espoirs 2006) cet auvergnat a déjà fait danser l’Europe entière, de Barcelone à Berlin, en passant par Turin, Lisbonne ou encore le centre pompidou à Paris…
Eedio
Beeing the first frenchman and the first foreigner having signed under the prestigious Berlin label Bpitch Control (leaded by the famous Ellen Allien), EEDiO makes music without constraints and first of all for the pleasure, influenced by the 80s New Wave and all the actual european electronic scene… Considered as on of the biggest hopefuls of the electronic music (graded among the 10 young hopefuls 2006 in the referendum of the TRAX readers last february) this young man from Auvergne made dance already whole Europe, from Barcelona to Berlin, from Turin to Lisbonna till the Centre Pompidou in Paris.

NABLA
En 1989, Nabla et EEDIO se rencontrent lors d’un tournoi de ping pong
nocturne. Malgré les 3 années qui le séparent de son ainé, Nabla
remporte le match mais ne peut poursuivre sa quête puisque son papa
vient le chercher pour aller se coucher. En grand prince il laisse donc
sa place à EEDIO. C’est le debut d’une longue amitié. Leur collaboration
visualo-sonore debute en 2002 lorsque EEDIO confie la réalisation du
clip de Complexe à Nabla. Ils se retrouveront pour leur deuxieme
collaboration live lors de la soirée de cloture de MAL AU PIXEL. Nabla

NABLA
In 1989 Nabla and EEDiO meet at a night tournament of table-tennis. In spite of the 3 years that separe him from his older brother, Nabla wins the match but he can’t continue his quest because his dad takes him to bed. So he gives his place to EEDiO. That’s the beginning of a long friendship. Their visual-sonory collaboration begins in 2002 when EEDiO entrusts Nabla with the realization of the clip of Complexe. Jean Love
He has been an avid record collector since his childhood and spent most of his teenage years dancing to early electro/hip hop. He then discovered Acid-House and went raving all over France. After creating the organistaion \’Superheroes\’, promoting several after parties, regular drum n\’bass nights and running a DJ bar (Underworld Café) in Paris, he decided to take to the decks himself. Jean Love is also an artistic photographer with an eye for urban decay and a penchant for toys and dolls.
Style : Jean Love brings humour and finesse to Breakfastisback. He is a fan of melodic electronica, bassey Electro and oldschool breaks and minimal deep. He combines all these styles to create something completely original which can make you want to close your eyes and drift one minute and get up and dance the next.

TN Video / Tuulanahaut
Tuulanauhat et TN-video est un groupe de trois personnes, deux finlandais et un français, actif depuis 2001. Le groupe a produit des courts et des visuels joués live. Au départ trio d’expérimentations avec des magnétos et des équipement électroniques, TN-video se concentre à présent sur les tournages et la projection. Tuulanauhat video est une formation travaillant des boucles vidéos en multiprojection. Les boucles répètent des thèmes visuels (ciels et tournages en avion) sont projetés sur trois couches d’écrans. www.tuulanauhat.com
