The Bench, That Became Confused

The Bench, That Became Confused -installation is an experimentation platform
for combining a piece of furniture with different types of audio to be interacted
with throught the action of sitting on the bench. In its present state those
seated interact with abstract, rhythmic soundscapes.
Lotta Partanen started her studies in spatial design in the
Gerrit Rietveld Academy of Art and Design in 1994. In 1999 she continued for
a MA degree in furniture design in the University of Art and Design, Helsinki,
and graduated as an interior architect in 2001. Her final work "Välimerkki
- Punctuation Mark" was displayed in the Design Museum in 2002. Currently
she is working on a second degree in New Media, in which she concentrates on
the possibilities of combining interactivity with everyday environment and its
objects.
